Building Partners

When St. Matthew was redesigned, it was built to be a gathering place for the whole community and to share its space with other non-profit organizations. We are proud of our community partnership who collectively are all working to serve Southwest DC through their mission and values.

  • Swahili Lutheran Church

The Swahili Lutheran Church meets at 11 a.m. on Sundays and offers a Lutheran service of Word and Sacrament in the Swahili language. A luncheon typically follows the service. Visitors are always welcome. Other prayer meetings and events happen throughout the month. Please email for more information.

  • City Sing and Play

Every week in our music classes at City Sing And Play, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them come together to sing and play and make music together. Little ones love playing along in class, and caregivers love being a part of their children’s growth into confident music-makers. And everyone loves our songs that’ll have you tapping along in no time. Watch your SAPlings blossom and grow through music, movement, and most importantly, fun! Music Together is the perfect family activity in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood!

  • Waterfront Village

Waterfront Village is a community of members, volunteers, and supporters working together to help older adults in Southwest D.C. and Navy Yard live active and independent lives. Our Village provides a broad range of opportunities to socialize, learn, maintain wellness, volunteer, and enjoy life, while building friendships and strengthening community.

The Village is a membership organization that is supported by a small staff, amazing volunteers, and a Board of Directors. Together we enable members to celebrate life's opportunities and meet the challenges of aging in place. We are a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status.

  • Children's Chorus of Washington

The Children's Chorus of Washington nurtures artistic excellence and empowers young singers by celebrating our shared humanity and the value of every voice.

Founded in 1995 by Joan Gregoryk and currently under the artistic leadership of Margaret Nomura Clark, CCW continues to inspire and empower young singers, ensuring that the joy of choral music reaches diverse communities throughout the DC area.
